Pre-extension demonstration of blended fertilizer rate for maize crop production in Debub Ari Woreda, Southern Ethiopia

The demonstration was conducted with aim to introduce new rate of blended fertilizer on maize crop and enhance farmers’ awareness toward practice. Sites host farmers selection were undertaken purposively by researcher jointly agricultural experts the corresponding woreda. carried out five one FTC’s field in each kebele, two plots per farmer’s fields used. Totally, 105 participants participated training day events. Farmers’ preference cost data collected using individual interview whereas sample grain yield from plot weight measurement. Participatory on-field performance evaluation feedbacks participant farmers, stakeholder during day. Farmer’s results showed that, under (100 NPSB + 260 Urea) kgha-1of more preferred existing extension practices. Yield result revealed better 4.78t ha-1 obtained practice advantage 12.47% compared So, use enhances productivities area. Therefore, conducting further scaling up popularization is recommended areas similar soil type agro-ecology
